Renelle’s Boudoir Shoot Experience

Trying anything for the first time can be a mix of invigoration or pure nerves. For some, booking a boudoir shoot is their ticket to celebrating their body in a new undiscovered way. For others, the thought of dressing up in their lingerie leaves them feeling a little unsure in themselves. 

I had the unique pleasure of working with Renelle who wanted to share her personal story of booking a boudoir shoot and embracing herself in all aspects.

Renelle shared that she loves traveling and experiencing different cultures, “In the last few years, I made the conscious decision to do more things outside of my safe comfort zone.” One of those things outside of the comfort zone was booking a shoot with me!

She went on to say how much she’s been wanting to do a photoshoot like this for quite a while, and it was an experience to see herself in a different light. 

“I had been wanting to do a boudoir photoshoot for a long time, even before I knew what the name of it was. I finally decided on it after having some changes in my body that I wanted to have a more positive view of. I have physically changed, and although I still see myself as attractive I started to forget that I was still sexy. I just wanted to feel sexy again.”

When it came to hesitations, Renelle mentioned she knew she wanted to follow through with getting the photos done, but she was concerned about finding the right photographer to fit her needs.

But on the day of the shoot, her nerves were there but in a different way than you’d expect! 

“Initially I was nervous! Then that turned into nervous excitement.” Halfway into her shoot, both myself and Renelle's make-up artist, Essie, had hyped her up so she was completely comfortable with the new found confidence in her own body! We love empowering women to be who they are inside and out.

“Afterwards I felt very accomplished. I had these overwhelming feelings of euphoria for doing something that made me feel beautiful and sexy again. For me, it was a very self-validating experience.”

Renelle’s experience left her feeling energized and fulfilled, “The entire vibe and energy Latoya and Essie set from the beginning to the end of my experience was something I can’t even explain. I felt so comfortable with talking to them and opening up that it made my shoot flow effortlessly. I will absolutely be doing this again!”
